Our Story

Why JAM?

At JAM, we strive to help our community be a better place through performing, language, and visual arts.

We passionately pursue our mission to provide and spread joy to children and adults through a variety of arts and movement. To teach everyone how to choose joy, be the optimist, grow from challenges, and lead. To be a positive influence in the community.

At Joyful Arts Movement, you matter! We believe in personal touches and extra details that make sure our students know how important they are. We believe in clear communication, offering grace, and teaching life lessons through dance and arts.

our journey

Joyful Arts Movement was a bright idea during a dark pandemic. In a time where the arts seem to be disappearing we have shown up with a big smile and open arms to say, “Hey! We are here to celebrate the arts!” and we hope that you’ll hop in and join us for the journey. We are located in Collinsville, IL and are big supporters of locally owned small businesses. We are a happy community for creative people!

Our founder, Abby Odom, has been a creator of arts from a young age when she had her first dance class–which later led her into taking over her childhood dance studio and now has led her to opening an arts academy. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re given the tools and time to create–what will you create with us?’

Our values

As an extracurricular activity and outlet, it’s important that the place you choose to spend your time or your child’s time has a positive environment. Our team at JAM works hard to make sure that our students feel welcome and that our core values shine through.
